Events

The Hawke’s Bay Branch organises lectures aimed at the General Public, and also events supporting the teaching of science.

Each January we plan our programme for the year ahead and this evolves as the year goes on. For this reason, we do not publish the programme in full, but post to our website as soon as we have firmed up each individual event. Announcements, reminders and links to more detail on our events are circulated regularly by email to members and subscribers to our newsletter.

If you have any questions about our events or would like to suggest a speaker or a visit, please do send us an email.

Notable annual events include the Art Deco lecture, detailing some scientific aspect relevant to the Earthquake theme, and a Sea Week lecture usually held at the National Aquarium of New Zealand.

The Branch also regularly hosts Royal Society national lectures delivered by award recipients.
